Orphanage Construction

Dominican Republic

In 2007, we were introduced to Hogar El Faro orphanage. Ever since then we have taken them under our wing. Our mission is to come along side this orphanage and help it to become self sustainable.  Thirty very amazing boys ages 2-19 live here. They come with different stories, past hurts and personalities. They have one thing in common, they all want to be loved. Here at this orphange they have found hope and they are loved by the staff.

AOTK visits this orphanage every year. Our mission teams help make improvements, repairs and play with the children until they are tucking us in at night because of how tired we are!   We see their smiles and we see what God is doing in their lives.  We want to be able to give many more homeless orphaned boys an opportunity to have this love, hope and joy that our boys have found here at El Faro.

The Plan

To build five additional bedrooms on the 2nd level of the already existing orphanage. This will allow us to house  30+ more boys. We will also build a lunchroom and a study room.

How can I help?

  • Join us on a mission trip and help us build
  • Donate towards this project to cover the cost of materials and construction workers
  • Spread the word about the need
  • Contact construction companies in your area and ask if they can donate materials or their time

Special Needs Orphans

Haiti

In April 2013 we visited a special needs orphanage and the children who lived there completely blessed us. Several children were in wheel chairs and some couldnt get around because they didn't have one. Some of the children were not paralized but had other special needs. Each one of them wore a smile fromo ear to ear. Their circumstances didnt dictate their joy.

Our hope is to return to Haiti in 2014 and build very needed ramps in the orphanage as well as bringing beds, bedding, wheel chairs and other resources that they so deseperately need.

If you are skilled in construction or just have a heart to work with special needs children, contact us to join this 2014 mission trip. We need you... they need you.

Our project page is updated often as we continue to travel and see needs in different locations.

Peru Church Construction

In 2002, a group of individuals from New Life Covenant Church traveled to Chimbote, Peru. There they met a pastor and his wife along with their three lovely children. This nomadic family lived in the middle of no where surrounded by nothing but desert. Their plan was to start a church there to reach the nomadic people in the dessert. For years they lived in extreme poverty, sacrificing their family comfort to spread the love and word of God.

Today they have a church with over 200 members. They no longer live in the desert. The government began building roads and they are now recognized as the city of Las Delicias. The community is still impoverished but the community has grown and they look out for eachother.

New Life Covenant Church has helped the pastors build their home, three preschool classrooms where over 70 children now attend and receive a christian education and a lunchroom that serves as a center of nutrition for many poor families.

Recently, due to high winds, the church walls came tumbling down and the pastor and his family are not able to afford building another one. Time after time they have built their church and it has fallen down.

Army of the Kind has stepped in to help this church in Peru. We have sent many mission teams to do several outreaches in the community, bringing medicine, clothing, sports camps and some construction

For the next couple of years AOTK would like to focus on rebuilding their church with materials that will not be moved by a wind.

If your are interested in traveling to Peru and helping us to rebuild this church please contact us or  click on the GIVE button to donate towards this project
